Adult Learners: Our North Star

Featured stories from adult learners whose experiences inform CAI’s work.

“Trust yourself and take that first step. Each class, each milestone builds on the next. Before you know it, you’ve built a whole new future”

Vision

A diverse group of students and a teacher collaborating in a classroom, engaging with their notes and books, smiling and working together.

To create a higher education ecosystem where adult learners are fully recognized, supported, and empowered to achieve their academic and professional goals—through innovative, equitable, and student-centered pathways that value real-world experience and remove barriers to completion.

Mission

A woman in a wheelchair and a man are looking at a tablet together, smiling and enjoying the moment.

Our mission is to create a more accessible, responsive, and flexible higher education landscape. We do this by working directly with institutions and partners to implement evidence-based strategies that reduce barriers to completion, acknowledge prior learning, and close equity gaps for working adults and other non-traditional students.
