Community College Bachelor’s Degrees and Credit for Prior Learning

Community colleges have long served as an accessible reentry point for adult learners, and credit for prior learning (CPL) recognizes the real-world skills they bring saving time, money, and validating their experiences. However, inconsistent transfer policies have limited CPL’s impact, a challenge increasingly addressed by community college bachelor’s programs that allow students to apply these credits seamlessly through to degree completion.
